DROWNING FATALITY.
Kketahuna, Jan. 31. Leonard Victor Mitchell, nine years old, whose parents reside at Woodville, was drowned while bathing in the Makakahi river at Hamua yesterday He went to bathe with other boys, one of whom made repeated plucky attempts to rescue him. A man who was unable to swim then arrived, and also tried to fescue the boy. The body was recovered an hour later. The police and a doctor attempted artificial respiration, but without result.
