The match for the Manson and Barr Cup, played at Palmerston North on Saturday between Rimmer's rink and Tasker’s rink (Palmerston North), resulted in a win for the holders by 21 points to 18. The game was fairly close for the first few heads, the score being 7 —6 in favour of the holders after the sixth bead had been played. Foxton scored on the next six heads, bringing their total up to 15, and on the fifteenth head the score was 17-8. Palmerston put on a four on the sixteenth head, following it up with three, on the next head, the score then reading, Foxton 17, Palmerston 15. On the eighteenth head Foxton scored one, but Palmerston scored six on the remaining three heads. The following are the teams : Palmerston. Foxton. Wilson D. Whibley Hodgins F. Whibley Seifert Nye Tasker (s) 21 Rimmer (s) 18 On the local green to-morrow afternoon another match for the Nye ferns will be played, the holders being called upon to defend their right to the trophies againsi a rink skipped by F. Whibley. On Wednesday, at Taihape, the holders of the Hum Cup defeated a challenging rink from Palmerston, skipped by Dixon, by 17 points to 16.
