THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner cabled yesterday at noon as follows : The hemp market is firm and greatly affected by reports of freight shortage. The market is excited and accurate quotations cannot be given. Quotations are nominal. New Zealand good fair Z>4s. faff Manila new graded faff coarse ,£49, JanuaryMarch shipment New Zealand good fair ,£44, fair Tow ; Second grade £25. The output from Manila for the week was 16,000 bales.
