FOXTON LADIES’ PATRIOTIC GUILD.
SPLENDID CONTRIBUTION FOR SECOND HOSPITAL SHIP.
The above Guild, on Saturday, packed and forwarded equipment for twelve beds for the second Hospital Ship. Four cases were forwarded, as follows : No. 1 : 12 night shirts, 36 pairs pyjamas, 12 nightingales, 12 underpants, 12 flannel waistcoats, 12 day shirts, 24 undershirts. No. 2 : 26 pillows. No. 3:5 do/,, face towels, 2 doz. pillow slips, 3 doz, sheets, 6 doz. handkerchiefs, 12 quilts, bandages, 4 pair bed sox, 24 face cloths, 24 bath towels, 12 bags, old linen. No. 4: 12 pairs knitted sox, 12 dressing gowns, 11 mufflers, 5 chest protectors. The value of this consignment totalled ,£B7, and the work was completed in four weeks—a magnificent record !
The Guild desire to acknowledge, with Ihanks, two sacks of basic slag bags from Mr Witney, Wbirokino run, for sand bags. The name in the doll-guessing competition will be announced at the Royal Pictures on Wednesday night. The weight-guessing competition for Mr Walls’ cake closes on Friday next, 12th inst.
