REPORT OF COMMISSION
SEVEN EDUCATION DIS TRICTS PROVIDED.
The repot t of the Education Districts Commission was presented to the House of Representatives yesterday. It recommends that the number of education districts In New Zealand shall be reduced from thirteen to seven, the smallest number provided for in the Education Act, 1914. The Commission recommends that there should be seven education districts, namely. Auckland, Wanganui, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland. This recommendation involves the disappearance of the Westland, Grey, Marlborough, Taranaki, Nelson, and South Canterbury districts, which are absorbed in the larger areas.
