BOROUGH FINANCES.

The Borough Treasurer reported at last night’s Council meeting as follows: —

“1 have the honour to report that the following amount has been received during the past month and placed to the credit of the district fund account, £555 3s rod. The positions of the banking accounts, as per pass books, are as under ; District fund account, credit, £231 16s 3d, and cemetery account, credit, £lO 17s ud. The ledger balances are as under ; Gas works 5s yd, sanitation 7U53 os 1 id, reserves roads aud streets loan No. 2 £l6 4s <Sd, Beach road loan £l3 9s 3d, cemetery £\o 17s rid, roads and street* loan £3 5s 911, library £\ 5s 2d, contractors’ deposits £4, hospital aud charitable aid £3 19s, Whirokino bridge loan £3 9s rod, Shannon bridge loan £2 15s 2d, council chamber aud public library loan £2 3s 2d, all in credit, a total of ,£936 17s id. The accounts at debit are : General ns 9d, gas works loan £237 os lod, imprest cash ,£lO, and Whirokiuo bridge additions loan 12s 4d, a total of 4s 1 id.
