FUEEER’S PICTURES
“DAVID GARRICK,”
This play, which will be screened at the Town Hall tonight, was first played in France under the title of “Sullivan,” and is delightfully wholesome, and carries with it the genuine charm of sweet sentiment. The plot revolves around a player of romantic characters, who is fascinated by the beauty of a lady of high social position, and who in turn has an infatuation for the actor. The gulf separating their respective social positions is the only obstruction to their happiness, and how this is finally overcome is the substance of one of the prettiest of all stage romances. The remainder ot the programme is of the usual high s , ' , ’Drd, and will be screened to .. ~ . tor the last time.
WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY. The management will have pleasure in introducing the powerful Kalem melodrama, “Shannon of the Sixth,” a story ol the Indian Mutiny. This story includes some of the most exciting situations that have ever been presented on the screen, amongst which is the famous massacre at Meerut in May, 1857. Many oi the incidents woven Into the story are historically true, and the whole picture is attractively toned by the sentimental vein supplied by the love of the beautiful daughter of the commanding General and Shannon of the famous Sixth. Supporting films are: “Australia will he there,” farewell to Australian troops ; “Dr Smith’s Baby,” comedy ; the latest. Topical; “The Fashion Shop,” comedy.
