CONCERT.
"A very enjoyable concert was held in All Saints’ schoolroom on Thursday evening. The vicar, Rev Mr Raine, presided. The programme was well received, most of the items being encored. Mr Betty's orchestra (Miss Jenks piano, Miss Cook and Mr Gahites violins, and Mr Betty baritone) opened the programme with a spirited selection. Vocal duets were contributed by Mesdames Alf. Jenks and Raine and Miss Signal and Mr Barr. The quartette party, Mrs Boyes, Miss Signal and Messrs Barr and Signal sang two unaccompanied numbers with fine effect. Miss Bryant made her first public appearance as a vocalist and created a good impression and was deservedly encored. Mr Camphe.ll, a visitor, scored a success with Ills Scottish humorous songs and the audience took up the choruses. Mr John Golder’s comi’c song created much amusement. Mr Claris' eloculiouary item was greatly appreciated as was Mr Simmons’ violin selection. The other vocalists were : Mrs Boyes, Mrs Freeman, Miss Kerapton, Mr Alf. Jenks and a monologue and recitation by Mr Hornblow. The accompaniments were played by Misses Jenks and Betty and Mr Collins. The National Anthem brought a very enjoyable programme to a close. The ladies of the congregation supplied an abundance of refreshments. The Rev Mr Raine thanked the performers. A special word of praise is due to Mr Betty for organising the affair.
