ENTERTAINMENTS.

ROYAL PICTURES

A splendid series of war pictures will be screened at the Royal tonight, showing Servian troops guarding the railway at Belgrade, London’s Lord Mayor visiting Brussels, and also Great Britain’s preparations for war. These pictures will be shown in addition to the ordinary programme, the star film of which is “ The Governor’s Double,” an exciting play built around a strange resemblance. The programme also includes other dramas, scenics, comics and interest subjects. On Monday evening the great film, “The Marl Pit Mystery,” will be screened. This is an adaption from the famous novel of Georges Ohnet, the celebrated' French writer, which is sufficient guarantee that it is something above the ordinary.

MUNICIPAL PICTURES. The programme to be screened at the above pictures this evening contains a very fine star drama, “When Lions Escape,” by the famous Gaumont Co- The story circles around a bad man who plots a great revenge, and who in the end pays the penalty for his wickedness. The other items of the programme are: “Australian Gazette,” topical ; “Two Merchants,” comic ; “Among the Gorges of Colorado,” scenic; “Her Second Shot.” drama; “Any Port in a Storm,” comic ; “Fleeing From the Fleas,” comic.
