TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.
The Town Clerk’s report, as under, was submitted at Monday night’s meeting of the Borough Council
“I have to report that the road staff have been engaged as under during the past month, viz Spreading metal in Union Street, Avenue Road, Moutoa Road and Main Street ; cleaning channels in Union, Main and Clyde Streets; forming footpath Park Street; and mixing asphalt in yard ; cleaning up Triangle ; putting down crossing i a Main Street and repairing footpaths in Main Street. The work of re-asphalting Clyde Street has been started to-day. The amount of 600 yards of metal as authorised has come to hand and we will not order any mote this season unless needed urgently. The balance not required on the streets has been put in the yard. The owners of the fences along Johnston Street have been called upon to repair same. Some boys have wilfully destroyed by fire the facines on the cutting in Johnston Street. The matter has been placed in the hands of the police and the parents of the boys concerned will be called upon to make good the damage done.”
