FOXTON TENNIS CLUB.
The annual meeting of members of the above club was held on Thursday night. There was a good attendance. The president, Mr G. H. Stiles, occupied the chair. The balance-sheet, disclosing a credit balance of £8 ns Bd, was adopted. The following officers were elected ; —Patron, Mr F. Robinson ; President, Mr G. H. Stiles ; vice-presidents, Drs. Hislop and Mandl, and Messrs Fraser and Hornblow ; committee, Mrs Phillips and Misses KentJohnston, Millar, G. Lumsden, Honore, Messrs Phillips, KentJohnston, Betty, Furrie. and Jackson ; secretary and treasurer, Mr Chas. Simmons ; match committee, Messrs Phillips, Jackson and Fraser; auditor, Mr G. Fraser. The following new members were elected :—Misses Kempton. Kelly, Rimmer, Lumsden, Mitchell,’ Dr Hislop and Mr Bel]. Wednesday, 23rd inst., was decided upon as the opening day. It was resolved that the ladies supply afternoon tea, the list and dates re same to be drawn lip by Mrs Phillips. It was decided that members were to supply their own balls in future ; that a defaulters’ list shall be posted up in the pavilion at the expiration of the time limit for payment of subscriptions. Messrs Stiles, Hornblow, Phillips, Simmons, Fraser and Kent-Johnston were appointed a sub-committee to revise the rules. It was decided that the committee shall have power to suspend any player for violating the rules, and for an infringement of rule 6 the player shall cease to be a member. Trophies were offered and accepted with thanks from Messrs Stiles, Dr Mandl, Furrie, and Fraser. The usual compliment to the chair terminated the meeting.
