FOXTON RIFLE CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the Foxton Rifle Club was held last night, to consider a circular letter received from the Defence Department, in connection with the organisation of Rifle Clubs for home defence purposes. The letter stated that clubs are to be organised into companies, and the Foxton Club has been requested to increase its membership to 30. It is to form part of the No. 6 Company which will include the Himatangi, Pohanglna and Awahuri Rifle Clubs, with headquarters at Palmerston North. The membership of the local club at present is only 18, so that at least twelve new members are required, and applications for membership are invitedIt was decided to hold a general meeting, when it is essential that all members should be present, and a hearty invitation to be in attendance is extended to intending members.
