MUNICIPAL PICTURES. A more than ordinary programme has been selected for tomorrow evening, and will no doubt draw as usual a large audience. The star drama, of 2000 feet, "The Intruder,” is too good to describe in detail and may be briefly summarised as under: The young heir, the old tenants, their aversion, their respect. A story ot love at first sight. The young heir takes possession of their home and niece and creates everlasting happiness. The other dramas are ‘‘The Living Doll” and ‘‘The Way to Happiness,” both of which are very attractive, especially the latter, which is the romance of a beautiful girl who gives her life to an uplifting mission in the underworld,, her thrilling experiences and her path to happiness are well shown. ‘‘Acrobatic feats in the’ open air” is a very amusing vaudeville turn. The comics are ‘‘The Speed of Kings” ard ‘‘Max and His Portmanteau.” The former includes a most exciting motor race while the latter is one of the everpopular Max Linder series and tells how Linder conceals his marriage from his favourite uncle, and when the latter invites him to spend a few days with him he must either decline it or leave his wife; he dare not do the former and simply cannot do the latter. So he opens his bag and straps her in. Max is cordially received by his uncle, and after a disquieting incident with the servant who wants to do his duty by the bag, he finds himself in bis room and in a position to release his darling. But no sooner has he done this than his uncle returns and causes embarrasment. With the aid of a table cloth he converts his wile into a rather happy table, but a second alarm compels him to push her up a chimney, whence she emerges afterwards in a filthy condition, There is nothing for it but a journey to the bathroom. They are again surprised by uncle who “wants a bath. Although Max tries to hide his wile in the tub, his relation discovers her and the game is up. .Fortunately uncle has a keen sense of humour and all ends well. “Sports in Merrie England” will appeal to all of a sporting nature, while the “Pathe Gazette” Is full of recent happenings at Home.
