OBITUARY.

It is with regret we chronicle the death of Mrs M. J. McCarthy, of Union Street, which took place on Tuesday night. The late Mrs McCarthy had only been confined to her bed for about a week. The cause of death was a serious growth in the neck and subsequent blood-poisoning. The deceased was the eldest daughter of the late Mr C. Price, formerly of Ngahauranga and Palmerston N. Mrs McCarthy was a resident of Foxton for upwards of 25 years. She displayed a keen interest in horticultural matters. She is survived by a son, Mr L. McCarthy, and daughter (Mrs C. Rand). The interment took place in the Foxtou cemetery this afternoon, the Rev Mr Coatsworth officiating at the graveside.
