HON. JAMES ALLEN AT HASTINGS.
Hastings, Last Night. The Hon. Jas. Allen addressed a crowded meeting at Hastings this evening. His speech was mainly a review of the work done by the Government and a reply to Opposition criticism. Most of the subjects were dealt with on the lines of the Minister’s previous statements that have already been published. The Minister devoted a great deal of time in replying to interjections. At the conclusion of his address he was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence by a large majority.
