CALLESEN —BOWK.
A quiet wedding was celebrated at the residence of the bride’s parents, Marotiri, on Thursday by the Rev. Father Dore, the contracting parties being Miss Katherine Bridget Bowe, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Bowe and Mr Walter Herbert Callesen, third son of Mr V, Calleseu, of Raumai. The bride, attired in a cream silk radianti dress, with lace and pearl trimmings, with the usual veil and orange blossoms and carrying a shower bouquet, was given away by her father. She was attended by her sister, Miss Annie Bowe, as bridesmaid, who wore a grey cashmere dress trimmed with guipure lace. She also carried a bouquet of pink larkspur. Mr Joseph Smith attended the bridegroom as best man. The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a silver mounted purse. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a pearl and amytbest pendant, and to the bridesmaid a gold brooch set with emeralds. Alter the ceremony breakfast was partaken of, and the happy couple left by motor to catch the Main Tunk Express lor Auckland, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride’s travelling dress was of a golden brown Cloth trimmed with silk and braid and a white straw hat with black satin bows. Mr and Mrs Callesen were the recipients of many valuable and useful presents. In the evening a number ot the young people were entertained by the bride’s parents.
