CONVENT SCHOOL.
An enjoyable afternoon was spent at Saint Mary’s School on Thursday last, at which the Rev Father Dore presided. Many of the parents and friends of the children were present. The Rev Father Dore read the Inspector’s report, and then proceeded to distribute the prizes and the gifts of. the Christmas-tree. After the' distribution, refreshments were handed round. The children * performed several fancy dances, and sang some hue solos and duets. Father Dore wished the children a happy Christmas and pleasant holiday, after which he was loudly cheered. The prize list is as follows ; Best attendance. —Thomas Curtis, silver medal; Ethel Desmond, greenstone cross.
