WATER SPOUT AT GORE.
FARMS INUNDATED,
Gore, Last Night,
A severe thunderstorm visited Gore and district this afternoon.
A waterspout burst over a farm near Waikaka valley and inundated several farms.
Sixty sheep were drowned, fences were carried away, and a large paddock drilled for turnips was levelled, and the surface carried to the lowest part which was covered with silt to a depth of four or five feet.
It is reported the railway Hue was shifted four or five feet.
The waterspout burst ou the farmers unawares and they could do nothing but look at their stock be iug washed away.
Fourteen feet of water ran iu some gullies, which were unusually dry a few miles away.
