ENTERTAINMENTS.

MUNICIPAL PICTURES. “ EAST LYNNE.” For to-morrow night the management has secured an exceptionally !; strong picture attraction m “East Lynne”— an old favourite in new guise. The pictorial reproduction follows a specially-prepared dramatisation of Mrs Henry Woods, popular book, and is on a more extensive scale than the familiar orthodox stage drama. Restricted stage room does not affect the kinematograph, and “ East Lynne ” is therefore presented in complete form, the scenario covering five acts and 117 scenes. The film Was acted for the camera by a superior cast of artists/ including the eminent English actress, Miss Blanche Forsythe, who enacts the dual role of Lady Isabel and Madame Vine. The film is described as the biggest ever made in England. It is over 7000 feet long, and is practically a complete entertaiment, being preceded only by one other picture, which acts as a curtain-raiser, viz,, “Pathe's English Topical Gazette.” “ East Lynne ” is full of numerous pretty scenes and many of them are certain to be appreciated for their beauty, quaintness and ■ distinct charm in every detail. The whole programme is one of a most enticing character.
