CRICKET.

Alter several attempts to resuscitate the local club, which has been practically defunct since the beginning of last season, the efforts of a few enthusiasts headed by that good old supporter of the game, Mr W. S, Stewart, were successful in arranging a match with the Weraroa Training Farm team on the Farm grounds, and yesterday afternoon a local eleven visited Weraroa and played the game, being victorious by 20 runs on the first innings. The scores of both teams were very small, due no doubt to the fact that none of the players had had any practice whatever. Foxton batted first and scored 30, but this small total was too many for the home team who were all disposed of for rr.
