The championship, and also th Challenge Shield, at the Palmersto North Band Contest of 1911 wet won by the Wellington Garriso Band. They used Hawke’s Exce sior Sonorous Band Instruments—complete set. In the first test piec the maximum number of points wa ‘allotted, the judge declaring thr he had never heard better playinj He commended in eulogistic term the tone and blend. The Welling ton Tramway Band, also using complete set of Hawke’s Excelsio Instruments, won the B Grade. These two successes on such great occasion are worthy wins fo Hawke’s, whose instruments ar pre-eminent all over the work Bandsmen, buy a set of Hawke’sthere are honours and valuabl prizes to be won with them!
