FOXTON'S OLDEST RESIDENT.

RESIDENT OF 62 YEARS STANDING.

There is yet another claimant to the destinction of being Foxtou’s oldest resident in the person of Mrs Symons, senior, of Robinson Street, who has been a resident of this district for no less a period than 62 years. Mrs Symons arrived in Wellington in 1841 and ten years later came to Foxton in the cutter “Fly,” commanded by Captain Semeno. The “Fly” sailed right up to Paiaka, where Mrs Symons landed subsequently removing to Foxton.
