DEATH OF NELSON IDENTITY.
Nelson, June 23.
The death occurred to day of William Poore Smith, a very old settler, aged 95. Smith in his younger days was an officer in the mercantile marine. He settled near Nelson in 1850, and had resided in the district ever since.
