TENNIS CLUB’S EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE.

One of the most enjoyable social functions held so far this year was the Tennis Club’s euchre party and dance which took place in the Masonic Hall on Tuesday night. The interior of the hall was charmingly decorated with bunting and greenery—the work of an enthusiaitic sub-committee consisting of Mrs Phillips, Misses McHardie and Wanklyn, and Messrs Phillips, Gabites, and the energetic secretary Mr Burgess. Miss Stacpoole won the lady’s prize and Mr Jackson the gents in the euchre tournament. The dance was most enjoyable and Mr Phillips carried out his duties as M.C. very efficient!}. The music was supplied by Mr Berthold and extras were played by Mrs Freeman and Miss McHardie. The following were some of the dresses worn :—Mrs Edwards, black silk; Mrs Seabury, black silk ; Mrs J. Barber, black satin; Mrs Meyer, black velvet; Miss Edwards, cream dress; Miss F. Edwards, pink satin ; Mrs Phillips, green velvet; Mrs Teviotdale, pink velvet; Mrs Adams, green velvet; Mrs Freeman, white net; Miss Wanklyn, blue; Miss E. Wanklyn, black velvet; Miss M. Wanklyn, pink satin; Miss MacKeudry, blue satin; Miss Broughton, pale green glace ; Miss Speirs, cream; Miss B. Speirs, blue silk crepe ; Mrs Farkes, black silk; Mrs Johnstone, black velvet; Mrs Nye, black satin; Miss Alzdorf, blue crystalline; Miss Robinson, blue silk ; Miss H. Cooke, cream dress; Miss Stacpoole, white silk; , Mrs Jackson, embroidered delaine; Mrs Clemett, black and white voile; Miss McHardie, cream charmeuse.
