PICTURE SHOW WORRIES.
The Foxton public was nearly deprived of its picture entertainment on Saturday. The films did not arrive by the 1.30 p.m. train. The operator immediately got into communication with the manager, and he at once decided that the operator should go to Palmerston by the 3.10 train, and endeavour to get a supply of films from Fullers and return by motor car, the said car having to be arranged tor by the manager over the phone. In the meantime, and while it was quite uncertain whether the films could be procured in Palmerston or not, word reached the manager that the lost films had been traced to Levin. The phone was again brought into service, and the return of the films to Foxton by car was arranged, it was then after 5 o’clock and a car was the only means to get them in time should a supply not arrive from Palmerston. As a matter of fact both lots of films got to the Hall within five minutes of each other, at half past six. But the trouble was not yet over. When the operator came to make up the original programme he found the former operator had carelessly placed it in lour full spools all of which' had to be broken down and certain other pictures inserted to replace two previously screened. However, all’s well that ends well, and the public got their picture show as usual.
