SHOOTING.
The competition for the trophy presented by Mr R. T. Betty, was won by A, Bard, who shooting from the 16 yards marks, secured seven kills out of 12 birds. A. E. Smith, 10 yards, with five kills was second. There were six competitors. The shooters were troubled by the strong wind that was blowing and this accounts for the small scores recorded. At Shannon, on Saturday, two competitions were got off under the auspices of the Miranui Gun Club, for trophies presented by Messrs A. Seifert and Hook. Both were won byE. Warrington, who, shooting from the 19 yards marks in the first shoot, got 12 kills out of 15 birds, and in the other match from 2r yards got nine kills out of xo birds. The only competitor from the local Club was D. Green who was on the 14 yards mark and secured 10 and six kills respectively.
