SHOOTING.

The competition for the trophy presented by Mr R. T. Betty, was won by A, Bard, who shooting from the 16 yards marks, secured seven kills out of 12 birds. A. E. Smith, 10 yards, with five kills was second. There were six competitors. The shooters were troubled by the strong wind that was blowing and this accounts for the small scores recorded. At Shannon, on Saturday, two competitions were got off under the auspices of the Miranui Gun Club, for trophies presented by Messrs A. Seifert and Hook. Both were won byE.
