CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir. —I was pleased to read in yonr issue of Thursday last that someone is alive to the fact that the streets of our town should be kept clear of undesirables, who seem to appear at regular intervals to the annoyance of everybody. After pay day at certain mills there is a number of these who invariably come into town to cut out their cheques, and it would be a very easy matter for the local police to deal with them, as they and their habits must be wellknown to them. If you go into any other town you do not see this class of man hanging about the main streets, neither is he allowed to pester people, and it our local police likes to get a move on, the streets of our little town will be as clear of this class as anywhere else.—l am, etc., One Who Has Been Annoyed.
