AN AUCKLAND SENSATION.
A DETERMINED WOMAN. Auckland, Januai y 9. Kathleen Sommerville, a mechanical dentist, went into the rooms of J. H. Colwell, dentist, this afternoon, locked the door of his office, and said she would shoot him unless he agreed to renew their friendship aud assist her in her work. Colwell declined and threatened to call the police. He went to the door with the intention of doing so, when it is stated she fired the revolver, the bullet entering the wall within two inches of his head as he went through the door. The woman has been arrested. During the afternoon Kathleen Sommerville was charged with attempting to murder W. J. Colwell. A remand was granted till tomorrow.
