SCHOOL GARDEN AND HOME PLOTS.
THE PRIZE WINNERS
Mr R. Gray, the judge appointed by the local Horticultural Society in connection with school and home garden plots, made his inspection yesterday, and awarded prizes as follows : Flower plots (girls).—First prize 1 os, second ss, third special: Bessie Lumsdeu 1, Dorothy Blanch 2, Kathleen Barber 3. Vegetable plots (boys).—First prize 1 os, second ss, third special : Darcy Robinson 1, Willie Easton 2, Clarence Coley and Allan Walsh (equal) 3, George Walsh (Mr Gray’s special).
Best collection of flowers.— Dulcie Osborne 1, Olive Nye 2, Maggie Proctor and Amy Brown (equal) 3. Best home garden plot (girls).— Mr Greig’s special prize 10s 6d, Mr Jackson’s special 5s : Kathleen Barber 1, Eva Thompson 2. Boys.—Mr Greig’s special 10s 6d, Mr Jackson’s 5s : The late Calloway Robinson x, George Walsh 2, Aithur Thompson v.h.c. The Moutoa school garden plots will be judged to-day, and the Himatangi gardens in February.
