RIFLE CLUB.
The local rifle club’s range was officially opened yesterday afternoon by the president, Mr G. O. Barber. The general public was represented and after the opening ceremony afternoon tea was handed round. The new targets, which have recently been erected, were used for the first time and worked without a hitch and to the entire satisfaction of the members. The appointments at the range are now right up-to-date and everything possible has been done for the convenience and comfort of those taking an active part in rifle shooting. The opinion was expressed yesterday that the new targets were second to none in the district. During the afternoon a match was fired between teams selected by the President and Vice-presi-dent, which resulted in a win for the President’s team by 54 points.
