FOXTON BOWLING CLUB.
The official opening of the local Bowling Club’s season will take place next Wednesday afternoon, at 2.30 o’clock. Tlie caretaker and committee have spent a good deal of time in getting the lawn in order and removing weedy obstructions, and it is anticipated that the ground will be even in better order than last year — and that is saying a good deal. Since the club was formed, some two years ago, rapid strides have been made by local bowlers, and district honours have been won. Local enthusiasts are anxious to win even wider fame this year. The administrative affairs ot the club are in capable hands which is evidenced by the improvement effected. The ladies have nut been overlooked, and this year there will be increased accommodation on the croquet courts. The ladies will dispense afternoon tea on Wednesday, and a stall will be erected, when the public will be given an opportunity to assist the funds by purchasing art needlework and other fancy goods. A cordial invitation to be present is extended to tire public.
