MOUTOA NOTES.
(Own Correspondent.)
Mr Cyril Green, late manager for the Green Flax Dressing Company, has purchased a farm and flax mill at Te Avvamulu.
I regret to slate that Mr aud Mrs Doyle arc about to leave Moutoa.
Inviiaiions aic out for a dance to be held iu Mr Wall’s Hall by the Marotiri Hockey Club. I am pleased to learn that a move has at last been made to do something towards the improvement of the Moutoa-Foxton road. Perhaps it would uot be out of place to mention that a number o* officials from different local bodies may pay a visit to this district next week. I regret they did not do so some three or four weeks ago.
A second hockey match, played at Moutoa, between Moutoa aud Shannon, resulted iu a victory for Moutoa by a substantial majority. I believe the game that will decide the superiority of the teams will be a very interesting one to watch. I am afraid the farmers will prove too many for the townies. I understand that part of the property recently purchased from Mr A. Edwards by Newth and Wall changed hands lately, and is now the property of Whitauuui, Ltd. 1 hear, on good authority, that Mr Wall made a profit of something over one thousand pounds and, considering he has only been in possession for about twelve mouths, the venture was a veritable gold mine for Mr Wall, who, by the way, is a commercial traveller.
