WEDDING.
+ JOHNSTON—AUSTIN
A wedding which created considerable local interest, was celebrated in All Saints’ Church this morning by the vicar, Rev. G. Y. Woodward, when Mr C. F. Juhnston was united to Mrs H. Austin. A number of people waited at the church from 8 o’clock, at which hour it was thought the ceremony would take place, but the time fixed was 9 o’clock. The wedding party arrived by motor car and the bridegroom-elect escorted the bride-elect into the church. The bride was accompanied by her sister, Mrs J. Carter, of Eketahuna, and her niece, Miss Carter, Mr J. Cummerfield officiated as best man. The bride looked very becoming in a beautifully-fitting grey cloth 'costume with black trimmings and black hat with black plume. When the party left the church they were accorded a hearty cheer and were liberally showered with rice and confetti as they took their seats in the car. Breakfast was partaken at the charming home of the bride, alter which Mr and Mrs Johnston motored to Shannon, where they entrained for. Napier, where the honeymoon is to be spent. Together with the many friends of Mr and Mrs Johnston, the Heraeu extends its best wishes fer thair future happiness.
