FOXTON HARBOUR BILL.

The Foxton Harbour Board Loan Bill, which has been introduced by Mr J. Robertson, M.P., and is on all tours with a measure introduced last year to authorise the Foxton Harbour Board to raise a loan of ,£20,000, which it desires to expend in acquiring the Foxton Wharf from the Railway Department. The Board is intent on securing the wharf in order that it may become possessed of revenue which will enable it to provide for harbour maintenance and improvement works. Some weeks ago a deputation from the Foxton Harbour Board was informed by the Minister for Railways (Mr Myers), that, according to the Departmental files, a larger price than £20,000 had been demanded for the wharf, but Mr Robertson, M.P., who was present, said that written evidence would be produced to show that the former Minister for Railways (the Hon. J. A. Millar) had agreed to the price of ,£20,000.
