The cows, which were mostly backward in calving, sold well, making up to ,£lO 15s, dairyheifers close to profit £6 to £8 ss, others £4 10s to £5 15s, backward heifers £3 ns to £3 15s. Pigs— Berkshire boars to sows 2-1 to 4% g5., weaners 9s. At Rongolea on Wednesday, stock did not come forward as advertised. Quotations : Sheep—Cull ewes iu lamb 7s 1 id, yearling heifers ,£3 12s, store cows £2 10s to £2 18s 6d, forward cows £3 15s to £4 2s, forward heifers £4 1 os, fat cows £6 is, bulls £3 1 os.
At Palmerston North on Thursday we had a small entry of sheep and a good yarding of cattle, the latter consisting mostly of female sorts. Quotations : Sheep —Forward ewes ns 3d, lambs 12s sd. Cattle Weaners 27s 6d, weaner heifers £2 to £2 ss, aged cows 24s to 30s, store cows £2 to £3, forward cows £3 10s to £3 15s, aged cows iu calf £3 to £4, cows in calf £4 17s 6d to £6, heifers in calf £5 ios, weaner bulls £2 to £2 ss.
