HEMP MARKET,
The High Commissioner cabled as follows at noon yesterday :
Hemp market is quiet but steady, dependent on Manila reports. Reports from Manila indicate large shipments, but supply fine quality running short. No change in prices. Output Manila 42,000 bales. STOCK REPORT. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Reduced report: At Himatangi on Monday we had a good entry of cattle, but only two pens of sheep came forward. Practically a total clearance was effected at late rates. Quotations: Sheep—Hoggets ns yd, light fat ewes 14s. CattleEmpty 2-yr heifers £3 10s, backward heifers in calf £\ ys 6d, forward heifers in calf £6 ss, forward cows £$ 1 os, fat cows £5 15s, 2-yr steers £\ 4s 6d.
