Palmerston N., June 19. Voting of ratepayers took place to-day on the proposal of the Palmerston North Borough Council to borrow ,£60,000 for the installation of electric tramways. The proposal was agreed to, the voting being — Votes For..; 722 Against 455 Majority for ... 267 The overhead trolley system will be adopted, according to the recommendations of Mr Black, engineer.
