A FATAL MISTAKE.

Christchurch, June 18,

The i.lcaiii orc.uivd suddenly in Christchurch this morning of Mr John M.u'.Uau, a well-known wholesale jeweller and dental importer, 66 years ot age. He leaves a large family. For some time Mr Manttan had been suffering from rheumatism, and to refresh himself during frequent periods 0 faintness he kept a bottle of lime juice in his strong room. Las Tuesday, at about 1 p.m. he fel weak, but instead of taking limejuice he took by mistake a dose of glacia acetic acid, which was in the strong room, being kept there for dental purposes. It is known as a deadly poison.
