CRICKET.

The Australians succeeded in deieating Surrey by seven wickets, the scores being ; Australia 2U2 and 54 for three wickets, and Surrey 139 and 205. Macartney again gave an excellent display of batting, scoring 123, and Emery troubled the County batsmen to some extent, securing live wickets in the second innings for 11 runs. During the 1909 tour ol the Australians, two matches were played against Surrey, the lirst being won by the County team by the narrow margin ut live runs, after a great game, and the second match being drawn.

The Eeviu Cricket Club is holding a dance on Friday evening next, when the Horowheuua Association's championship shield, won last year by Foxton, will be presented to the winning team, by the donor, Mr Hugh Hall. The Eevin Club extend an invitation to be present to all members of the Foxton Club.
