CRICKET.

In their match against the Australians the Essex eleven were disposed ot for 192, Emery being the chief cause of their downfall, securing five wickets for 72 runs. The Australians opened brilliantly and have scored 564 for the loss of three wickets, Macartney compiling 208 and Bardsley, who was not out, has 18410 his credit. This match appears to be something of a repetition of the 1909 team’s first game against Essex, when Australia scored 609 for the loss of six wickets, Bardsley notching 219 and Rausford 174. The County team scored 148 and 344 for nine wickets, the match being drawn.
