ENTERTAINMENTS.

SKATING

The municipal rink continues to be very well patronised by skaters, and the number of spectators occupying the seats on the stage is satisfactory. The patrons of the riuk on Thursday and last evening appeared to enjoy the pastime to the full. The learners are making very good progress, and already a good number have gained sufficient confidence to venture on the larger rink successfully. A pleasant feature of the pastime is the number of ladies attending the rink, and much enjoyment is found by the male patrons in assisting them on the rollers. A little dissatisfaction has been expressed by some of those attending regarding no passes being issued at the doors, but no doubt this matter will be considered aud rectified at au early date, it being a usual practice to permit the tree egress aud iugress of patrons at most forms of amusement.
