TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.

The Town Clerk submitted the following report of the woi kings of the borough for the past month at last night’s Council meeting: — “The men have been engaged principally during the past month in cleaning out the borough drains, and in addition have none the following work : Put a second coat ol tar on the crossings in Main street at the junctions of Wharf, Clyde, and Whyte streets, spread oxide of iron on sides of Wharf street as a weed exterminator, cleaned out water tables and trimmed footpaths in Clyde street, cleaned out water tables in Main street and Union street, tilled in holes in Park street, and cleaned water channels and footpaths in front of Town Hall, and cleaned the Triangle and worked at gas works.

“The Municipal pictures continue to be well patronised. I had to torego the entertainment on Saturday, March 2nd, owing to the illness of the operator and pianiste. A second extinguisher has been procured and placed in the operator’s cabinet in conlormity with the hre insurance regulation.

“Owing to the numerous complaints I thought it advisable to procure and iustal two patent disinfectant reservoirs, which are entirely satisfactory. “I propose, during the coming mouth, to secure a small sand-drift in Johnston street, at Brewer’s gate, to get Messrs Ross and Son to clear out the drain running through the rope works, which is again running back up Reeves street, and to proceed with cleaning out ol the borough drains generally.

“The frogs tor the new gas lamps have at last arrived, and the new lamps which have been lying in the works for months will be shortly placed in position, ’ ’
