A BOY’S SUICIDE.
Auckland, February 6
An inquest was opened at Cambridge this morning before Mr Dickenson (acting-coroner) and a jury on the body of Charles Edmund Morse, aged fifteen years, the youngest sou of Mr Robert Morse, retired contractor, and youngest child of a family of fourteen. The father deposed as to the identity of the body, and the inquest was then adjourned till Friday next. It seems that the father had occasion to chastise the boy yesterday afternoon in connection with complaints made about his conduct, and lectured him, pointing out that if he continued to misbehave it would probably lead to proceedings being taken against him. The boy shortly afterwards obtained a gun, went into the kitchen garden, and putting the gun to his right temple, fired, blowing his brains out.
