BOWLING

The gaslight tournament held by the Levin Bowling Club on Wednesday and Thursday evenings was a great success. Fourteen teams took part in the competition, and some very interesting games were witnessed by a large crowd. Tnree rinks from Foxton were nominated, one of which was successful in getting into the final, but was then beaten. The local teams were as follows : No. 1, Petrie, Witchell. Rimmer, Stunell (s); No. 2, Green, Munro, Barber, Clemetf(s) ; No. 3, Adams, Hopper, Whibley, Spring (s). The following are the results ot the games played on the first night:—

Satherley (Otaki) 13; Cowie (Levin) 11. Hankins (Levin) 17; Spring (Foxton) 9. McArthur (Khandallah) 24 ; Wilson (Levin) 2. Stuanell (Foxton) 12 ; Harthill (Otaki) 10. Spooner (Terrace End) 14; Clemett (Foxton) 8. Clayton (Shannon) 15 ; Marriott (Levin) 12. The final round was played on Thursday night, with the result that the tournament was won by Khandallah, with Otaki second.
