RAILWAY COLLISIONS.

GREAT LOSS OF LIFE

Ottawa, Jan. 9

Two Canadian Pacific trains crashed into each other in a headon collision at Terrebonne, Quebec, when going at full speed. Both t'ains were crowded with passengers attending the special Epiphany services. Thirty-seven are reported dead, but it is impossible at present to ascertain the actual number.

Many bodies have been recovered from the wreckage. New York, Jan. 9.

A Rock Island passenger train has been wrecked by a collision with a freight train at Platt river.

The number of victims is unknown.
