WRECK OF THE JANE DOUGLAS.

Neeson, Jan. 10

The Hokitika-owned steamer Jane Douglas (Captain Vendore) was wrecked at 1 a.m. on the Saddle Rock at d’Urville Island. The crew are safe. There are no further particulars. Mr Maude, of the Island, is bringing the crew in a launch to French Pass, and they will arrive in Nelson to-night by the Pateeua. E? ter. The vessel was going along the passage between Stephens and d’Urville Islands, when she struck the Saddle Rock end on. The crew managed to escaue, but nothing was saved, as the vessel sank in five minutes.
