Brisbane, January 6, The man Jeuuer was charged at the Police Court with the murder, ou December 23rd, of the girl Holzwait, vvho was employed at a boardinghouse at Ipswich, and found with her throat cut.

Tbe police, iu evidence, said that Jeuuer had made a statement to the effect that the girl had promised to marry him. but he was alraid someoue else would ma-ry her, so he cut her throat through jealousy. Jeuuer had also declared, said the polce, that if he could not get the girl here he would get her “ ou the other side.”

The hearing af the case is not finished.
