THE LICENSING POLL.

WHAT THE PROHIBITION

ISTS MAY DO

Sydney, Dec. 17

“ Fair Play,” the liquor trade’s journal, states that it would be simply lolly to attempt to discount the significance ot the prohibition poll iu New Zealand. The paper adds; “It is the most serious political event that has ever happened in these States. With the majority they appear to possess the prohibitionists can coerce Parliament into doing what they are pleased to regard as good for them. That these people will follow up their advantage goes without saying, aud the whole civilised world through will watch with interest the working out of this strange situation.
