Judge’s note. —It gives me great pleasure to make a few remarks on the gardens of the children of the Moutoa School. This being the second occasion of ruy judging the plots. I was very agreeably surprised to see the vast improvement made by the pupils. I encouraged them last year to cultivate the ground more thoroughly, and they having done so have produced better results. Great credit is due to Mr Galland for the varieties of vegetables contained in such small plots, which of course gives a wider scope of knowledge.
