FOXTON v. SHANNON,
A very enjoyable match was played between these two teams at Shannon on Monday last. The visitors received a hearty welcome and were most kindly looked after during the day. The day closed . with a win for Foxton by 95 "•s. games to 60. Some of the games could not be played owing to the absence of one or two of the Shannon players, so the scores below do not fairly represent the strength of the two teams. Miss Atkinson showed excellent form, and the Misses Edwards have to be congratulated on their win in the doubles. Clemett and Mowbray single, owing to a slight accident to the latter, was unfinished. Foxton might easily follow Shannon in the manner that club keeps its ground. Following are the scores : LADIES’ DOUBLES, Miss F. Edwards and Miss Edwards 9 v. Miss Atkinson and Miss Laurvlg 8, Miss H. Cook and Miss Barber 9 v. Mrs Eaurvig and Miss Duukley 7. COMBINED DOUBLES. Mr Stevens and Miss F. Edwards 7 v.
